Gentlemen of the Senate :
We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
the appointment of a Joint Select Committee of five, two on
part of the Senate, and three on the part of the House, to
visit the Hospital for the Insane, at Spring Grove, to ex-
amine into its condition, &c., and to report to the two Houses.

Gentlemen of the Senate :

to make the Committees on the Library of both Houses, a
Joint Committee on the Library.

Mr. Hance presented the memorial of Charles Clagett,
George T. Brook, Washington J. Beal, and 32 other tobacco
planters of Prince George's county, praying the repeal of all
laws relating to the inspection of tobacco.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on In-
spections.
Mr. Clark presented the petition of Mary A. Gaither and
Elizabeth A. Warfield, praying for a pension.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
