Mr. Cockey presented the petition of Jaa. M. Stevens, Sam'1
T. Skinner and 200 others, respectfully asking for the pas-
sage of a law submitting to the voters of the City of Balti-
more, and to the voters of the several counties, the question
whether licenses for the sale of intoxicating liquors as a bev-
erage shall be granted or not.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Scott presented the petition of A. D. Grim, Josiah
Berch and Benjamin Lutch, and 70 other citizens of Wash-
ington county, praying for a law protecting game.
Which was read and referred to the Washington county
delegation.
Mr. Lankford presented the petition of John Sterling and
others of Crisfield, Somerset county, Md., praying a reduc-
tion of the price of license for dredging for oysters.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
Mr, Constable presented petitions of citizens of Cecil coun-
ty, praying the passage of a law protecting tho fish in the
waters of the county from non residents.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
Mr. Robinson presented an appeal to the people of Mary-
land by the Visitors and Governors of St. John's College.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Edu-
cation.
Mr. Gill presented the memorial of Joseph A. Thomas.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Snowden presented the petition of John T. Rilchue,
W. W. Hill, Arthur Tolson, G. W. Duvall, of Geo., and
70 other citizens of the Second Election District of Prince
George's county, asking for a division of said district.
Which was read and referred to the Prince George's dele-
gation.
Mr. Rutledge, from the Committee on the Judiciary, to
whom was referred the order submitted by him on the 20th
instant, that the Speaker appoint a clerk to the Committee
on the Library, reported thereon, with the following proposed
