1826 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Apl. 3,
Mr. Chaisty, Chairman on the part of the House of the
Joint Committee on Printing, submitted the following
REPORT.
To the Honorable the Senate and
House of Delegates of the State of Maryland:
The Joint Committee on Printing respectfully submit the
following as their final report, to both Houses of the Legisla-
ture. Your Committee, at their first meeting, appointed a
Sub-Committee, who, together with the Messenger, were
directed to see that the Journal and Documents, were prop-
erly and expeditiously printed and distributed. It gives us
pleasure to state, that the Printer has shown every disposi-
tion to comply fully with his contract. We believe the Docu-
ments ordered have been printed, with the exception of the
Fishery Report, (which is now in type,) and the completion
of the Journal and the Laws. We would further state, that
the Senate Journal is completed to March 31st, while that of
the House is, but six days behind, which is creditable to the
Printer, when we consider, that for the last ten days, the
Bouse has been holding three Sessions daily. In addition,
we would state, that while we have from time to time given
drafts upon the Comptroller, for amounts that would enable
the Printer to prosecute the work, we have reserved more than
one-filth of the whole amount named in the contract, to be
paid by the Comptroller upon the completion of the Docu-
ments yet to be printed, the Journals of both Houses, and the
printing of the Laws and Resolutions. Your Committee
believing they have discharged their duties to the best of their
ability, would respectfully ask the adoption of this report,
and that the Committee be discharged.
All of which is respectfully submitted.
Signed:—
JAMES FENNER LEE, Chairman,
FRANCIS PUTNAM STEVENS,
S. TAYLOR SUIT,
WM. T. HEPBRON,
On the part of the Senate.
EDWARD J. CHAISTY, Chairman,
WM. G. GORDY,
D. W.SNOWDEN,
S. R. WATERS, of Carroll,
F. M. LANCASTER,
JOHN TURNER,
F. RULLMAN, JR.,
On the part cf the House,
Which was adopted.
