of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Habeas Cor-
pus," and enact the following in lieu thereof.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal Sec. 3 of chap. 373 of the
Laws, Jan. session, in the year 1867, relating to the ap-
pointment of a Stenographer for the Orphan's Court of Bal-
timore city, and to re-enact the same with amendment.

the Chief Clerk of the House, and presented to the Hon.
Lewis Cass Smith, and the Chairman of the Committee on
Claims is hereby directed to pay the expenses of carrying this
