Mr. Loane, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably with proposed amendment,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize appropriations
by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, in and for the
benefit of corporations duly charged with the custody of
juvenile delinquents.
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
"Not exceeding a reasonable compensation for the board
and maintenance of such delinquents thus committed and
provided further, that the provisions of this Act shall not
apply to any corporations of a sectarian character."
Which was adopted, and the bill as amended, read a
second time.
Mr. Brown, Chairman of the Committee on Inspections,
reported unfavorably,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 41, 6, 7 and 8, of
chapter 504, of an Act passed January Session, 1874, en-
titled an Act to regulate the manufacture and sale of oil for
illuminating purposes, and repealing the Acts enumerated
therein, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
The unfavorable report was adopted.
Mr. Usilton, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably with proposed amendment,
Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments, Section 46, of Article 14, of the Public Local
Laws, passed at the January Session, 1868, entitled "Kent
County," sub-title "Chestertown."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
After the words "Commissioners shall not appoint," in
line 27, page 2, strike out the words "any bailiff of the
town, or supervisor of the roads or streets, collector of taxes,"
and insert the following, "shall as collector of said town
taxes, any bailiff of the town, or supervisor of the streets,
&c., but shall appoint as collector of said town tax, the col-
lector of the Slate and county taxes in the 4th Election Dis-
trict of Kent county."
Which was adopted, and the bill as amended, read a second
time.

Act passed at the January Session, 1866, title "Kent County,"
