erect a gate on the public road in Anne Arundel county.

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Anne Arundel county to open and widen the
county, road leading from Hooversville, on the Washington
branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, to Odenton on
the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad.
Which was read a second time.
Mr. Brown, Chairman of the Committee on Inspections,
reported favorably,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate Gas Metres in
the City of Baltimore.
Which was read a second time.
Also, favorably, with proposed amendments,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the appoint-
ment of State inspection of oils and fluids used for illumina-
ting purposes in this State, and for a Board of Direction upon
the inspection of illuminating oils and fluids.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Amend Sec. 1, strike out line 4 "chemist," and insert
"persons."
Sec. 1, line 9, atter the word "four," insert "provided the
inspection of said oils for illuminating purposes shall be made
at the places where the oils are offered for sale to the con-
sumers."
Which were severally adopted, and the bill read a second
time as amended.

10, Public Local Laws for Dorchester county, relating to col-
lection of taxes.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Waters, of Carroll county, reported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Carroll county, to adjust and settle the amounts
due Jeremiah Robertson, trustee of John Smith, John
Smith's children, and George Kane, for county taxes paid in
error, and to authorize the Comptroller of the Treasury to
settle the State taxes, on the basis adopted by the County
Commissioners, and certified by them to him.
