On motion of Mr. Vandiver,
At 9.30 o'clock, the further consideration of the Report
was postponed until 10 o'clock, this P. M.
Mr. Robinson, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably with proposed amendment,
Senate bill entitiled an Act to repeal chapter 501, of the
Laws of Maryland of 1874, entitled an Act to provide for
mantaining nnd keeping in repair the public roads in Anne
Arundel county, and to repeal the Act passed at January
Session, 1870, chapter 192, and to re-enact said chapter 192,
of the laws of 1870.
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Amend Section 11, by striking out all after "shall," in
1st line, to the word "purposely," in 4th line.
Which was adopted, and the bill as amended, read a
second time.
The bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 105, of chapter
9, passed at the January Session, 1874, entitled an Act to
repeal Sections 105 and 106, of Article 26, of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Corporations," sub-title "In-
surance Companies," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments and to amend and re-enact the said Section 105,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to declare the Monday immedi-
ately preceding Tuesday, the 4th day of July, 1876, a legal
holiday,
Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Hess submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
"That notes and obligations due on Tuesday, the 4th day of
July, 1876, shall be lawtul to be paid on Wednesday, imme-
diately succeeding."
The proposed amendment was adopted,
And the bill as amended, rend a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.
The hour often o'clock having arrived,
The House renewed the consideration of the Report of the
Committee on Elections.
The question recurring upon the adoption of the Report,
Mr. Scott demanded the yeas and nays,
