The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills;
A bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 59, of the Acts
of 1874, entitled an Act to and an additional Section to Arti-
cle 40, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Fines and
Forfeitures," to come in after Section 3, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Cumberland and
Savage River Canal, Railroad and Slack Water Navigation
Company.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 3, of chapter 215,
of the Acts passed at the January Session, 1856, entitled an
Act to authorize the building of a bridge over the river Pa-
tapsco at Ferry Bar, and to re-enact the same so as to read
follows.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Select
Committee on that subject.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to regulate the charges upon Rail-
road Companies in the State of Maryland.
Which was read a first, time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 23, of Article 75,
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Pleadings, Prac-
tice and Process," and to re-enact the same with amendments.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to require the stationery purchased
for the use of the Library, Senate and House of Delegates, to
be contracted for by the Comptroller, Treasurer and Libra-
rian.
Which was read a first time an i referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 119 of ch. 471,
