Whiteley Bros. & Co., Wylie, Brnster & Co., Seliger &
Newman, Shipe, Cloud & Co., and 90 other merchants of
Baltimore city, against the passage of the Assessment bill
now before the Legislature,
Mr. McGlone presented the petition of R. A. Taylor, W.
T. Miller, Wood, Weeks & Co , Staley, Armstrong & Co.,
S. P. Thompson and 49 other merchants of Baltimore city,
against the passage of the Assessment bill now before the
Legislature.
Mr. Hoblitzell presented the petition of J H. Pleasants, J.
B. H. Smith, E. G. Dawson, and several other merchants of
Baltimore city, against the passage of the Assessment bill now
before the Legislature.
Which were severally -read and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.
On motion of Mr. Usilton, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Boyer, of Kent county, have leave of
absence till Wednesday next.
On motion of Mr. Baldwin, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Smith, of Baltimore county, be ex-
cused from attendance on this House to-day.
On motion of Mr. Hoblitzell, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Waters, of Carroll, be excused from
attendance this day.
On motion of Mr. Ward, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Briscoe have leave of absence for to-
day on urgent business.
Mr. Donaldson submitted the following order:
Ordered, That when this House adjourns to-day, it stand
adjourned to 11 A. M., on Monday next.
Which wan adopted.
On motion of Mr. Naill, it was
Ordered, That if Mr. Farrow had been present when the
vote was taken on the bill appropriating money to repair the
State House, he would have voted in the negative.
HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
March 25th, 1876.
The following bills having passed both Houses of the Gen-
eral Assembly, were this day presented to his Excellency,
the Governor, for his approval:
No. 159. An Act to provide for the assessment and taxa-
tion of the property of Railroad Companies in this State, for
county and municipal purposes, and to repeal all laws or
parts of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this Act.
