On motion of Mr. Don aid son,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to amend the Thirty-Seventh
Article of the Code of Public General Laws, by repealing the
second Section of said Article relating to the competency of
witnesses, and the examination of parties, as amended by the
Act of eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, chapter one hun-
dred and sixteen, and inserting in said Article in lieu of the
section so repealed, a section relating to the competency of
witnesses and the examination of parties
On motion of Mr. Whitelock,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend an Act passed at January Session
1867, incorporating the Beneficial Saving Fund Society of
Baltimore, by changing the name of the same.
On motion of Mr. Lambdin,
Leave was granted to the Dorchester Delegation to intro-
duce a bitl to repeal the Road Laws for Dorchester county,
and re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Koons,
Leave was granted to the Frederick Delegation to intro-
duce a bill to repeal the Act of 1874, chap. 285 of the Public
Local Laws of Frederick county.
On motion of Mr. Whitelock,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore County Delegation to
introduce a bill to prohibit the granting of licenses for the
sale of spirirous or fermented liquors within one mile of the
Washington Factory, in Baltimore county.
On motion of Mr. Sprigg,
Leave was granted to the Allegany Delegation to intro-
duce an Act to authorize the Mayor and Council of the City
of Cumberland, to issue bonds to raise money to complete and
furnish the City Hall and Market in said city.
On motion of Mr. Neal,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal an Act entitled an Act to provide
for the passage of locomotives, cars, passengers and freight
over connecting railroads in the State of Maryland Laws of
1874, chapter 446.
On motion of Mr. Loane,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill providing for the punishment of abductions.
