On motion of Mr. Stewart,
The vote by which the petition of Philip W. Downs, and
180 other petitioners asking for the passage of a law grant-
ing citizens of Caroline county, licenses for taking or catch-
ing oysters with dredges, scoops, scrapers or toners, in the
waters of the Choptank river,
Was ordered to be referred to the Committee on the Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries,
Was reconsidered and said petition referred to the Caroline
and Dorchester delegations.
On motion of Mr. Stewart,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal and re-enact with amendments,
Section 7, of Article 45, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Husband and Wife," also chapter 270, of the Acts of
the General Assembly passed at Session of 1872.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Goldsborough, Culbreth and
Cockey to introduce a bill to regulate and provide for the
County Printing of Caroline county.
On motion of Mr. Stewart,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal Article 60 of the Code of Public
General Laws entitled "Marriage," also to repeal from Sec-
tion 124, inclusive, to Section 134, of Article 30, of the Code
of Public General Laws, entitled "Crimes and Punish-
ments," "sub-title "Marrying Unlawfully," also to repeal
chapter 423 of the Acts of General Assembly of 1867, and
chapter 42 of the Acts of 1868, relating to Marriage and
Marrying unlawfully, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal and re-enact with amendments,
Section.5, of Art 64 of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Mortgages."
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to add an additional Section to Article 3, of
the Code of Public General Laws, titled "Agents and Fac-
tors."
