A bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 875, of Article 4,
of the Public Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title
"Taxes and Loans," and to amend and re-enact the same
with amendments.
Was read a first time and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay L. F. Colton & Co., for paper furnished, and for print-
ing, binding and distributing the report of the Board of State
School Commissioners for the year 1874 as per order of the
Governor, in compliance with Acts of 1872, chapter 377, sub-
chapter 12, Section 11.
Was read a first time and referred to the Committee on
Claims.
Also, returned,
The bill entitled an Act making further appropriations for
the support of the Government, and Schools, and Reformatory
Institutions, for the year ending the 31st day of December,
1876.
Endorsed: "Passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ments:"
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, line 19, strike out "five thousand," and insert
"eight thousand five hundred."

Section 1, line 23, add "to Faculty of Physicians and Sur-
geons of Baltimore for maintenance of Lying in Hospital for
Indigent Women three thousand dollars," and to "Aged
Women's Home fifteen hundred dollars."
