HARRY W. NICE, GOVERNOR. 879

SECTION 1. Be it enacted 'by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Chapter
2 of the Acts of 1933, creating the Annapolis Metropolitan
Sewerage District, said new section to be known as Section
2A and to follow immediately after Section 2 of said Chapter,
and to read as follows:

2A. The Annapolis Metropolitan Sewerage Commission is
hereby authorized and empowered to allow The Mayor, Coun-
selor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis and/or the An-
napolis Water Company to employ its Chief Engineer; pro-
vided, however, that said Chief Engineer shall devote to the
said Annapolis Metropolitan Sewerage Commission as much
of his time as shall be required by the said Commission. The
said The Mayor, Counselor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis and/or the Annapolis Water Company are hereby
authorized and empowered to employ as Engineer, on a part
time basis, the Chief Engineer of the Annapolis Metropolitan
Sewerage Commission. The Annapolis Metropolitan Sewerage
Commission, The Mayor, Counselor and Aldermen of the City
of Annapolis and the Annapolis Water Company (in the event
that the Annapolis Water Company does not elect to make
use of the services of the said Engineer, then the two first
mentioned), shall by agreement fix the salary of the said
Chief Engineer, and of any salary so fixed, the Annapolis
Metropolitan Sewerage Commission shall bear one-half there-
of, and The Mayor, Counselor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis and/or the Annapolis Water Company shall bear
the remaining half thereof. For the purpose of increasing
cooperation and coordination among the aforementioned bodies
corporate, the Annapolis Metropolitan Sewerage Commission
is hereby authorized and empowered to transfer its engineer-
ing office from its present location to the City Hall or Munici-
pal Building.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 20 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Som-
erset County", to be under sub-title "Fire Departments",
said new section to be known as Section 197A, and to follow
