804 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 408

CHAPTER 408.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 7
and 8 of Article 78B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1924 Edition), title "Racing Commission", providing that
said Racing Commission may license a trotting and pacing
meeting for a period not exceeding ten (10) days in any
one year.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 7 and 8 of Article 78B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Racing Commission",
be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

7. Any person or persons, association or corporation desir-
ing to conduct racing within the State of Maryland during any
calendar year, shall apply to the Maryland Racing Commission
for a license so to do. Such application shall be filed with the
Secretary of the Commission on or before a day to be fixed by
the Commission. Such application shall specify the days on
which such racing is desired to be conducted or held, and such
application shall be in such form and supply such data and
information as the said Maryland Racing Commission shall
prescribe. Said Racing Commission shall, as soon as practi-
cable during nineteen hundred and twenty (1920), and on or
before the first day of March of each year thereafter, award
all dates for racing in the State of Maryland within the cur-
rent year, but the said dates so awarded shall not exceed One
Hundred Days in the aggregate, and the decision of the Com-
mission on the award of all such dates shall be final. In addi-
tion to the racing days authorized by other provisions of this
Article, the Commission may license for a period not exceed-
ing ten (10) days in any one year, one race meeting exclu-
sively for trotting and pacing races for a daily license fee of
Fifty Dollars ($50. 00), and there shall also be paid to the
Commission, not longer than five (5) days after the close of a
meeting so licensed, one percentum of the whole amount
wagered during said meeting, and all the money so paid,
shall be paid over by the Commission to the Treasurer of the
State of Maryland. The Commission shall have the power to
reject any application for a license for any cause which it
may deem sufficient and the action of the Commission shall be
final. No one person, corporation or association shall be
given a license to conduct racing for more than thirty (30)
days in one year, and no person, corporation or association,
shall be licensed to hold more than two meetings in any one
year, nor shall more than two meetings for racing with an
