it is hereby amended by inserting immediately after Section
1022 the following sub-title "Town of Washington Grove".

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Article 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Montgomery County", be and it hereby is amended by adding
forty-two new sections thereto, to be known as Sections 1023
to 1064, inclusive, to follow in consecutive order immediately
after the sub-title "Town of Washington Grove" created by
Section 1 hereof, said new sections to read as follows:

1023. The inhabitants and residents of the community
known as Washington Grove, in the County of Montgomery,
and State of Maryland, be and they are hereby created a body
corporate by the name of the Town of Washington Grove, with
all the powers and privileges of a body politic and corporate,
and by said corporate name may have perpetual succession,
and by that name may sue and be sued, may purchase and hold
real, personal and mixed property, or dispose of the same for
the benefit of said town, and may have and use a common
seal, which may be altered at pleasure. The said corporation
may organize, proceed and act through its Mayor and Town
Council, to be selected as hereafter provided.

1024. Said corporation may receive in trust and may con-
trol for the purpose of said trusts all money or other property
which may be bestowed upon such corporation by will, deed,
or in any other form of gift or conveyance, for any general
corporation purpose, or in aid of the indigent or poor or for
charitable purposes within said town, and the said corpora-
tion may lease, grant, sell or otherwise dispose of any property
which may hereafter be acquired by said town, having first
given public notice of such lease or sale in one or more of the
newspapers printed in Montgomery County once a week for
three successive weeks before such lease or sale.

1025. The boundaries and limits of said town shall be as
follows, to-wit: As shown on a copy of the plat of the sub-
division known as "Washington Grove", the original of which
is duly recorded among the land records for Montgomery
County, aforesaid.

1026. The first election for the Mayor and Town Council
shall be held at a meeting called for this purpose by the Presi-
dent of the Board of Trustees of the Washington Grove Asso-
ciation of the District of Columbia and Maryland, notice of
said meeting to be sent to all stockholders of the said Wash-
ington Grove Association and property owners by mail at least
ten days prior to the date of the meeting and by publication
