the necessary land or rights of way in connection with this
project.

Be it therefore enacted, That the Board of Public Works of
Maryland be and it is hereby authorized in the expenditure
of the sums appropriated as above set forth, to expend a por-
tion of said fund, not to exceed $5, 000. 00 for the acquisition of
lands and/or rights of ways for cutting, re-cutting or relocation
of the channel in Pocomoke Sound, which work is to be done
by the Federal Government, the balance of said fund, or as
much thereof as is necessary, to be expended for damage to
oyster beds as provided in the appropriation above set forth.

And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency law and necessary for the immediate pres-
ervation of the public health and safety, and having been
passed upon by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all of the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly, the same shall fake effect from the date
of its passage.

CHAPTER 344.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 209A
of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935
Supplement), title "Licenses", sub-title "Motor Vehicles",
sub-heading "Rules of the Road", to require vehicles to stop
behind school buses in Calvert County when such buses have
stopped to take on or discharge children.

(Vetoed. )

CHAPTER 345.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 11 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Fred-
erick County", sub-title "County Commissioners", said new
section to be known as Section 139A and to follow imme-
diately after Section 139 of said Article, providing a Board
of Assessment of three members, two of whom are to be se-
lected by the County Commissioners of Frederick County
and to provide for their qualifications, duties and compensa-
tions; to provide for the procedure of the reassessment of
