. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new sub-title be added to Article 8 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title '"Cecil County", said sub-
title to be known as "Harbor Master", and to add a new section
to said Article to be known as Section 218A and to follow
Section 218 of said Article, as follows:
Section 218A. The County Commissioners of Cecil County
shall have the power to appoint one or more harbor masters
for the several rivers and yacht basins of Cecil County. They
shall serve without salary for a period of one year. In addi-
tion to regulating the speed of craft entering or leaving harbor,
the Harbor Masters shall also perform such other and closely
related duties as may be assigned to them by the County Com-
missioners of Cecil County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 343.
AN ACT to authorize the expenditure of a part of the appro-
priation of the Acts of 1935 for damage to oyster beds to be
expended for acquisition of land in connection with dredg-
ing of Pocomoke Sound by the Federal Government.
WHEREAS, by Chapter 92 of the Acts of 1935, Item 22 there-
of, of Sub-section IV—Contingent Appropriations From Gen-
eral Funds, there was appropriated the sum not to exceed
112, 500. 00 for each of the years 1936 and 1937 "For damage to
oyster beds in Pocomoke Sound, caused by operations of Fed-
eral Government and contingent upon the dredging of a chan-
nel in Pocomoke Sound by the Federal Government. This ex-
penditure or so much thereof as may be necessary, to be sub-
ject to the approval of the Board of Public Works", and
WHEREAS, it has been found necessary in the progress of this
work that in addition to payment for damage to oyster beds,
it is necessary to acquire a certain portion of land for right
of way for the re-location of said channel, and
WHEREAS, said fund was specifically designated for payment
of damages to oyster beds, it is desired that a portion of said
fund, not to exceed f5, 000. 00 may be expended, subject to the
approval of the Board of Public Works for the acquisition of
