SECTION 1. Be it en-acted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the improved state road between Annapolis and
Baltimore City shall hereafter be known as The Ritchie High
way.

CHAPTER 337.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Chapter 532
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, session of
1935 as the same is codified in Article 33 of Bagby's Anno-
tated Code of Public General Laws of Maryland as sections
224B, 224C, and 224D, and to add eight new sections to said
Article, said new sections to be known as Sections 224B to
224L, inclusive, and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 224D, so as to provide for the acquisition and use
of voting machines in all of the Polling places in Mont-
gomery County; providing for the form of the ballot labels
to be used on said voting machines; providing for the
number of voting machines to be furnished to each polling
place; providing for the method of preparation of said voting
machines for elections; providing for the method of use of
said voting machines and the duties of judges and clerks of
election in connection therewith; providing for assistance
to voters in operating said voting machines and regulating
the time during which a voter may occupy a voting machine
booth; providing for the preparation and return of state-
ments of votes cast; providing for the sealing of voting ma-
chines, after the votes have been tabulated, for a certain pe-
riod of time; providing for the filing of statements of votes
cast in the office of the Board of Supervisors of Elections,
to be used as evidence in any contested election; providing
for use of paper ballots where the use of voting machines
may become impracticable; providing certain penalties for
persons convicted of certain offenses in connection with vot-
ing machines; providing for the repeal of laws conflicting
herewith; and declaring this act to be an emergency law.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 532 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland, Session of 1935, codified as Sections 224B, 224C
. and 224D of Article 33 of the Annotated Code, be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to
