224B. The Board of Supervisors of Election of Mont-
gomery County, with the approval of the Board of County
Commissioners of said County, are authorized and empowered
to purchase, rent, lease, or otherwise acquire such number of
voting machines as may be required to equip with voting
machines all of the polling places in Montgomery County, such
voting machines to be acquired in such manner and on such
terms as may be agreed upon by and between the Board of
Supervisors of Election of Montgomery County and the
County Commissioners of said County.

224C. The form and arrangement of ballot labels to be
used on said voting machines in all of the polling places in
Montgomery County shall be in accordance with Section 03 of
Article 33 of Bagby's Annotated Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, Edition of 1924, title "Elections", or as may
herein or be hereafter prescribed by law, except that the titles
of offices shall be arranged horizontally or vertically, and the
names of the candidates of each party or principle shall be
arranged under or opposite the proper title, in a horizontal or
vertical row for each party or principle; and except that said
ballot labels shall be printed in black ink on clear white ma-
terial of such size and arrangement as to suit the construction
of such voting machines and further that the designation of
the party or principle which each candidate represents shall
appear just above the name of each such candidate and pro-
vided further that the ballot labels shall be so arranged that
exact uniformity, so far as practicable, will prevail as to size
and face of printing of all candidates' names and party desig-
nations. The ballot labels for questions, including Constitu-
tional Amendments, Referenda and other propositions shall
be placed on the machine in the space provided for that pur-
pose and may contain a condensed statement of each proposi-
tion to be voted on, accompanied by the words "Yes" and
"No". The word "Yes" shall be interpreted as meaning a vote
for a constitutional amendment or statute referred, or other
proposition, and the word "No" as a vote against a constitu-
tional amendment or statute referred, or other proposition.
The titles of the offices on the ballot labels shall be printed in
type as large as the space for such office will reasonably per-
mit; there shall be printed below the office title the words
"Vote for One", "Vote for Two", in accordance with the pro-
visions of Section 63 of Article 33 of Bagby's Annotated Code
of Public General Laws of Maryland, Edition of 1924, title
"Elections", or such number as the voter is lawfully entitled
to vote for out of the whole number of candidates nominated
for such office.
