Peace of Prince George's County in the exercise of their crimi-
nal jurisdiction, and no members of said Force shall receive
any additional compensation for such service. It shall be the
duty of each officer at such times of the day and night as he
may be on duty to preserve the public peace, prevent crime,
protect the rights of persons and property, to see that all laws
and ordinances are strictly enforced, to arrest all offenders
against the laws of the State and all ordinances in force with-
in the limits of Prince George's County, and to appear before
the Circuit Court for Prince George's County or Justices of the
Peace for Prince George's County at all trials of cases in
which he has made the arrest, sworn out the warrant, or is in
any way concerned as a witness to the alleged violation of law.

SEC. 8. And &e it further enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the members of the Police Force to serve all subpoenas,
summons, writs and other papers issued to them by the Jus-
tices of the Peace of Prince George's County in the exercise
of their civil jurisdiction and to charge therefor such fees,
costs and charges as are permitted for officers under the
General Laws of Maryland or the Local Laws of Prince
George's County. Such costs, fees or charges as shall be
collected by any of said officers shall within thirty (30) days
from the date of their collection be paid over to the County
Commissioners of Prince Georges County for the use of the
police fund hereinafter created.

SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
purchase equipment, including motor vehicles or motorcycles
with or without side cars, in such number as in their judgment
may be advisable, upon the recommendation of the Police
Commissioners, for the use of the Prince George's County
Police, and said County Commissioners from time to time may
sell, trade or otherwise dispose of said motor vehicles or
motorcycles and purchase new ones at any time they may
deem the purchase of new motor vehicles or motorcycles neces-
sary; and all equipment, automobiles or motorcycles pur-
chased under this Act shall be and remain the property of
the county, and shall be returned by the members of the
Police Force to whom the said equipment may be issued,
upon separation, for any cause, from said force. All automo-
biles, arms and equipment of any kind or character now in
the possession of the present police force of Prince George's
County shall be returned immediately upon the going into
effect of this Act to the Police Commissioners hereby created
for use, if possible, by the police force hereby created.
