ber and approximate age and description of each dog and at
the time of call shall acquaint the owner with the provisions
of the licensing act and demand immediate compliance there-
with.

As full compensation for making a complete canvass and
compiling such dog census and during the first week of March
submitting the same to the County Treasurer for inspection
and stamping after the last entry therein, the Warden shall
receive 25% of all money when the same is paid in to the
Treasurer for licenses covering dogs listed in his census or
any supplements thereto filed by him before any such addi-
tional dogs are licensed.

Immediately after such census book is stamped by the Coun-
ty Treasurer, the Warden shall check up on all licenses issued
by the County Treasurer for his district and after giving one
week's personal, oral or written, notice to delinquents to get
their licenses, he shall sue out and serve warrants as provided
in Section 256C of this Act for delinquents; and from each
fine assessed, after conviction secured by him, he shall be paid
one-half of the fine imposed, but in no case not less than the
sum of Two Dollars ($2. 00) out of the Fines Fund as com-
pensation for his services in connection therewith.

It shall be the duty of the duly appointed Warden diligently
to seek out, pursue and destroy in as humane manner as pos-
sible all unlicensed dogs known to be living in a wild state
in the country of his district, to collect all dead dogs found
on the public grounds or highways of his district and either
to bury or otherwise effectually to dispose of all such car
casses; and at the end of each month upon presentation to
the County Treasurer of an affidavit, the blank form to be
furnished by the County Treasurer, setting forth a description
of each dog so destroyed or collected stating when, where,
why, and how each dog was apprehended, destroyed, collected,
and disposed of together with both full ears from each carcass,
he shall be paid out of the Bounty Fund of the district affected
a bounty of Two Dollars ($2. 00) for each dog so handled.

Any Warden who shall fraudulently present evidence of
destruction of dogs or carcasses for the purpose of collecting
the bounty therefor shall be guilty of a crime which upon
conviction shall be punished by a fine not to exceed the sum
of Two Hundred Dollars ($200. 00), or shall be imprisoned
in the County Jail for not less than three months or shall be
both fined and imprisoned in the discretion of the Court.

The payments of the foregoing commission and bounties
herein authorized shall constitute a first lien on the dog fund
of the district affected.

Provided, however, that the Board of County Commissioners
in lieu of the establishment and maintenance of pounds and
