and determine violations of an ordinance of the said Town of
Takoma Park, but such jurisdiction from the effective date
hereof shall be vested exclusively in the Police Justice as pro-
vided for herein. The Mayor and members of the Council of
said Town shall have no authority after the effective date of
this Act, to pay a salary to the Justice of the Peace provided
for in said Chapter 433, Section 489A, nor to supply him with
any office supplies as provided in said last mentioned Act.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That in the event that
any court of competent jurisdiction should declare any section
or part of this Act to be invalid, the remainder of the Act
shall not be invalidated thereby, but shall remain in full force
and effect.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That any public general
laws or public local laws, or parts of such laws, inconsistent
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such incon-
sistency.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1937.

CHAPTER 43.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 1A of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cum-
berland", sub-title "Police and Fire", said new section to be
known as Section 38A and to follow immediately after
Section 38 of said Article, relating to the vacation and com-
pensation of members of the Fire Department of the City of
Cumberland.

'SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
1A of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Cumberland", sub-title "Police and Fire", said
new section to be known as Section 38A and to follow imme-
diately after Section 38 of said Article, and to read as follows:

38A. Each member of the Fire Department shall be granted
an annual vacation or leave of absence of fifteen days with
pay after one year of service, and said vacation or leave of
absence may be taken, with the approval of the Fire Chief, in
such manner and at such time as the members may desire;
