157. On the day fixed by law of the United States for
choice of President and Vice-President of the United States
there shall be elected by general tickets as many electors of
President and Vice-President as this State shall be entitled
to appoint; provided that the names of the candidates for the
office of electors of President and Vice-President of the United
States shall not be printed on the ballot but in lieu thereof the
names of the candidates of each political party for the office of
President and Vice-President shall be printed thereon; and
a vote for said candidates for President and Vice-President
shall be deemed and counted as a vote for each of the Presi-
dential electors of said party named in the certificate of nomi-
nation of such Presidential candidates filed according to the
provisions of this Article.
158. Each citizen of this State entitled to vote for dele-
gates to the General Assembly shall have the right to vote for
the whole number of electors as provided in the preceding sec-
tion; and the Presidential electors of the candidates for Pres-
ident and Vice-President who receive the highest number of
notes shall be declared to be elected as said electors, and shall
be deemed so -appointed.
160. The said election shall in all respects be conducted as
other elections, except as otherwise provided in this Article
and the returns thereof made and canvassed as hereinbefore
directed.
162. The electors for this State shall meet in the State
House in the City of Annapolis and give their votes for Presi-
dent and Vice-President of the United States on the day fixed
by law of the United States for meetings of electors of Presi-
dent and Vice-President of the United States.
3. And be it further enacted, That Section 27 of Arti-
cle 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1924 Edition, title
"Governor-Executive and Administrative Departments", sub-
title "Governor", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments to read as follows:
27. The Governor upon receiving the returns of election
for electors to choose a President and Vice-President of the
United States and for members to represent this State in the
Congress of the United States shall enumerate and ascertain
the number of votes given for each person voted for as member
of Congress, and shall enumerate and ascertain the number of
votes given for each candidate for President and Vice-Presi-
dent of the United States, declaring elected the Presidential
electors of such candidates as received the highest number of
