distant therefrom said road, about 800 feet to intersect Crad-
dock's Property Line on the bank of Warrior Run; then with
said property line and in an Easterly direction, to a large
white oak tree, marked with six notches and the letter "C",
standing on the hillside west of the aforementioned McMul-
len Highway; then S. 78 degrees E. to the place of beginning.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the property with-
in the said corporate limits shall be subject to such taxes and
such changes as may be deemed necessary by the said Mayor
and Commissioners of Cresaptown or a majority of them in
order to support and maintain the expenses which may at
any time be incurred in the government and improvement of
said town.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the male and fe-
male citizens of the town of Cresaptown of the age of twenty-
one (21) years and upwards, who are citizens of the United
States, who have resided in said town for and during a period
of six months next preceding the first Monday in June in
each two years and at such place or places as may be desig-
nated by the Mayor and Commissioners of Cresaptown for
holding elections in said town, are authorized to elect four
Commissioners for said town, and one person to serve as
Mayor and one to serve as Clerk of said town, each of whom
shall have resided in said town for a period of at least one
(1) year preceding their election, and shall own property
of not less than Five Hundred Dollars ($500) within the town
limits.

The Commissioners elected under this Act shall serve for
two and four (2 and 4) years respectively or until their suc-
cessors are elected and qualified, and it is hereby provided
that the two Commissioners receiving the highest number of
votes at the first election to be held under the provisions of
this Act shall be elected for four (4) years and the other two
shall be elected for two (2) years, and at each election there-
after two Commissioners shall be elected for a term of four
(4) years. The Clerk and Mayor to be elected under the pro-
visions of this Act, shall, after they have qualified, hold their
respective offices for a period of two years, or until their suc-
cessors are elected and qualified,. *

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor, Clerk
and the Commissioners elected under the provisions of this
Act shall qualify on the 4th Monday in June in each year
after the election by taking the following oath, to be ad-
ministered by some Justice of the Peace of Allegany County,
Maryland:
