''Maryland-Washington Metropolitan District" said new Sec-
tions to be known as Sections 736A and 736B to follow im-
mediately after Section 736, and to read as follows:

736A. For the purpose of removing confusion due to a
duplication of street names and in order to secure a uniform-
ity of street names and numbering of houses, the said Mary-
land-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is here-
by authorized and empowered to name and rename any street
or highway and to number and re-number the houses within
the boundaries of the Maryland-Washington Metropolitan
District lying within Prince George's County. The said Com-
mission shall have the power to correct mistakes and to
change existing names of streets and highways, to re-name
said streets and highways from time to time and to place or
to have placed proper signs showing or indicating the names
of streets and highways, and shall also have the power to
change existing numbers of houses and to change said num-
bers from time to time, provided each new number or change
of number is reported to the owner or occupant of the build-
ing, and to place or have placed the new numbers on the build-
ing or premises. The said Commission shall also have the
power to make reasonable rules and regulations for carrying
out any of the changes in street or highway names or num-
bers of houses, and any violation of said rules and regula-
tions shall be deemed a misdemeanor and shall be punishable
before a Justice of the Peace, and every act or omission
designated as a misdemeanor in this Act unless otherwise
provided, shall be punishable before a Justice of the Peace
or the Circuit Court of Prince George's County and the of-
fender shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine not exceed-
ing one hundred dollars ($100. 00) or thirty (30) days in the
County Jail, or both, in the discretion of the Court, where
such an act or omission is of a continuing nature, or is per-
sisted in, in violation of the provisions of this act or of any
rule or regulation formulated thereunder, a conviction for any
offense shall not be a bar to a conviction for a continuation of
such offense subsequent to the first or any succeeding con-
viction.

736B. For the purpose of paying the costs and expenses in
carrying out the provisions of this Act the Maryland National
Capital Park and Planning Commission is hereby authorized
and directed to appropriate and expend any surplus, or so
much thereof as may be necessary, from fees for building per-
mits issued in Prince George's County now on hand which may
hereafter be collected prior to June 1, 1939.
