diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all of the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

CHAPTER 130.

An ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 503
of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Treasurer",
as amended by Chapter 280 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland of 1931, relating to the disposing of tax
sale property acquired by Anne Arundel County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 503 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition) as amended by Chapter 280 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1931, title
"Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Treasurer", be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so
as to read as follows:

503. The said County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County are hereby authorized, in case of any future sales of
property at tax sales for default in the payment of taxes, to
purchase such property and acquire title to and convey the
same to purchasers as if they were a natural person; pro-
vided, however, that in case of such purchase by the said
County Commissioners it shall not be lawful for them to pay
for such property a greater amount than the State and County
taxes in default, and the costs of sale, ratification and con-
veyance.

The County Commissioners are hereby authorized to sell at
either public or private sale any and all property acquired or
to be acquired by said County Commissioners at tax sales, to
the end that the property so acquired may be placed back on
the assessment books in the name of individual taxpayers.

The County Commissioners shall hold at least one public
sale every year for the purpose of disposing entirely of any
and all property purchased by said County Commissioners at,
tax sales.

All sales of tax sale property heretofore made by the County
Commissioners at either public or private sale be, and the
same are hereby ratified, confirmed and legalized so as to vest
