in the purchasers thereof the marketable title to the properties
so purchased.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all acts, or parts
of Acts, inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, or any of
them, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency,
but only to such extent.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and it is necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public safety, and being passed
on a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect from the
date of its passage.

CHAPTER 131.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 160
of Offutt's Revised Code of the Public Local Laws of Balti-
more County, Edition of 1929, title No. 14, "County Treas-
urer" (Flack's Code 1930, Article 3, Section 160), as repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, by Chapter 357 of the
Acts of 1931, Chapter 196 of the Acts of 1933, and Chapter
177 of the Acts of 1935, extending the time for levying upon
real and personal property for taxes due for the years 1936
and 1937, from the first Monday in April, 1937 and the first
Monday in April, 1938, to the first Monday in September,
1937 and the first Monday in September, 1938, respectively,
and revising the current method of property description in
tax sale newspaper advertisements.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 160 of Offutt's Revised Code of the Public
Local Laws of Baltimore County, Edition of 1929, title No. 14,
"County Treasurer" (Flack's Code, 1930, Article 3, Section
160), as repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, by Chap-
ter 357 of the Acts of 1931, Chapter 196 of the Acts of 1933,
and Chapter 177 of the Acts of 1935, be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as
follows:
160. If the taxes levied for the years 1936 and 1937
shall not be paid on or before the first Monday in Septem-
ber, in the year succeeding that for which they were re-
