SEC. 2. If any provision of this Act is declared uncon-
stitutional or the applicability thereof to any person or cir-
cumstances is held invalid, the constitutionality of the re-
mainder of the Act and the applicability thereof to other
persons and circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 543.

AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County", sub-title "Hyattsville", said new
section to be known as Section 513A, to follow immediately
after Section 513 of said Article, and to authorize the Mayor
and Common Council of Hyattsville to provide for the col-
lection, removal and disposition of garbage, trash, rubbish
and other refuse matter within the municipal limits of the
Town of Hyattsville and to maintain a dump or place for
the disposal thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Hyattsville",
said new Section to be known as Section 513A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 513 of said Article and to read as follows:

513A. The Mayor and Common Council of Hyattsville is
hereby authorized to provide means for the collection and
removal of garbage, trash, rubbish and other refuse matter
from within the limits of the Town of Hyattsville, whenever
in its discretion it believes the public health and safety of the
residents of the Town of Hyattsville require the same or the
public necessity warrants the same, and in such event, the
collection and removal of such garbage, trash, rubbish and
other refuse matter may be undertaken by the town itself,
through employees of the municipality and the use of
municipal equipment, or said municipality may contract for
the collection and removal of such garbage, trash, rubbish and
other refuse matter with such person, firm or corporation as
the municipality may agree with for such collection and
