and decision of the said County Commissioners, correct and
keep the assessment records of Prince George's County relat-
ing to Motor Vehicles liable to assessment in said county, so
that the same will correctly show the actual owner or owners
of each Motor Vehicle owned by a resident of Prince George's
County or taxable in said county. To this end the said Motor
Vehicle Transfer Clerk shall compile and keep such records
and memoranda in connection therewith as the County Com-
missioners may from time to time direct and shall in addition
thereto perform such other and further duties as the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County may impose upon
said Clerk. Before entering upon the duties of the office, the
said Motor Vehicle Transfer Clerk shall take an oath before
any of said County Commissioners of Prince George's County
that he or she, as the case may be, will diligently, without
partiality or prejudice, discharge the duties of the office of
Motor Vehicle Transfer Clerk. The said Motor Vehicle
Transfer Clerk so appointed shall be entitled to a salary of
not exceeding Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1, 500. 00) per annum,
payable in equal semi-monthly installments, which shall be in
full for all and any services rendered by said Motor Vehicle
Transfer Clerk at the direction of the County Commissioners.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 539.

AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Town of Hyattsville in
Prince George's County by adding a new section to Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland to be
known as Section 494A of said Article, and to follow imme-
diately after Section 494 of said Article, said new section to
make it unlawful to sell "alcoholic beverages" or intoxi-
cating drinks, other than beer or light wine, as the same are
defined in this Act, within the corporate limits of the Town
of Hyattsville; to prohibit the approval of an application
for and the issuance of a license for the sale of "alcoholic
beverages" or intoxicating drinks, other than beer or light
wine, as the same are defined in this Act, within the corporate
limits of the said Town of Hyattsville; to provide penalties
for the violation thereof; providing, that this section shall
not take effect until it has been submitted to the qualified
voters of said Municipality and approved by a majority of
