There shall be printed on the ballots to be used at said
election the title of this Act and underneath said title on
separate lines a square or box to the right of and opposite
the words "For Increased Salary for County Commissioners",
and a corresponding square or box to the right of and oppo-
site the words "Against Increased Salary for County Com-
missioners", so that the voters shall be able to designate by
a cross-mark in the proper square or box their decision for or
against said question. If a majority of the votes cast on
said question shall be "Por Increased Salary for County
Commissioners", then this Act shall become effective, but if
a majority of the votes cast thereon shall be "Against In-
creased Salary for County Commissioners", then this Act
shall be null and void and of no effect whatsoever.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect upon the commencement of the term of office of the
County Commissioners to be elected in November, 1938.

CHAPTER 538.
AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince
George's County", said new Section to be known as Section
318A under a sub-title to be known as "Motor Vehicle
Transfer Clerk", to follow immediately after Section 318 of
said Article, to provide for the appointment by the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County of a Motor
Vehicle Transfer Clerk and fixing the compensation and
defining the duties of said Motor Vehicle Transfer Clerk.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new Section be and the same hereby is added to
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Prince George's County", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 318A under a sub-title to be known
as "Motor Vehicle Transfer Clerk", and to follow immediately
after Section 318 of the said Article and to read as follows:
318A. MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSFER CLERK. The County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County shall in the month
of June, 1937, and every two years thereafter appoint
a Motor Vehicle Transfer Clerk for Prince George's
County, who shall, subject to the control, direction
