sioners so elected shall meet on the second and fourth Monday
of each month, and as much oftener as they desire; and the
present Commissioners of the Town of Sharptown shall hold
office until the next regular election herein provided and the
election and qualification of their successors. The Commis-
sioners of Sharptown shall organize the first regular meeting
after their election and qualification, and shall elect one of
their number as President of the Commissioners, whose duty
it shall be to preside at all meetings of the Commissioners, to
preserve order, and see that the ordinances and resolutions of
the said Commissioners of Sharptown are enforced.

167. At the second regular meeting after each general elec-
tion the. Commissioners shall appoint one or more persons,
residents and qualified voters of the town, who may or may
not be members of Board of Commissioners of Sharptown, to
act as Clerk to the said Commissioners, collector of town taxes
and treasurer for the term of one year or until successor or
successors are duly appointed and qualified. Such officer or
officers shall be paid such salary, commissions or fees for their
services as the Commissioners of Sharptown may, from time to
time, deem right and proper.

168. The said clerk, collector and treasurer, before entering
upon the performance of the duties of their respective offices,
shall take and subscribe to an oath before a Justice of the
Peace or a Notary Public of Wicomico County that they will
well and faithfully perform the duties of their respective offices
according to law and the ordinances of said town. The col-
lector and treasurer shall each give bond to the State of Mary-
land in an amount at least equal to the amount of taxes levied,
with surety or sureties approved by the said Commissioners,
conditioned that they will faithfully perform the duties of
collector and treasurer in all things according to law and the
ordinances of the town, and that they will account for and
pay over all monies that may come into their hands as col-
lector and treasurer in the manner required by law and said
ordinances. If said clerk, collector or treasurer shall fail to
qualify within ten days after appointment, said Commissioners
shall appoint some other person to said office or offices for
which the appointee or appointees have failed to qualify, such
new appointee to comply with the requirements of the office
to which he is appointed. In case of vacancy the said Com-
missioners shall appoint some person to fill the office for the
unexpired term under the same terms and conditions as already
set forth. The said clerk, collector and treasurer shall attend
all the meetings of the Commissioners of Sharptown. The
clerk shall keep full and accurate account of all the proceed-
ings of the said Commissioners, record all ordinances in the
