registration shall thereafter be held at such times as the
Council may by ordinance direct. The Council shall appoint
three registration officers to conduct registration with the
least possible delay and inconvenience to applicants applying
for registration; and the Council may by ordinance direct
officers of registration to sit for the registration of qualified
voters on such additional days as may in the judgment of the
Council be necessary; provided, however, that nothing herein
contained shall be deemed to relieve the officers of registra-
tion from sitting on the days and the hours herein specifically
provided.
The Council is authorized and directed to fix the compensa-
tion of such officers of registration, and to pay such com-
pensation and all other expenses incident to the registration
herein provided for.
The Council is further authorized to promulgate by ordi-
nance, rules and regulations not inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this sub-title, relating to the registration herein
provided.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 64.
(House Bill 119)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
15 of Article 12 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Bastardy and Fornication", providing that
the issuance of a warrant by a Justice of the Peace or the
filing of a sworn statement with the State's Attorney shall
operate as a bar to limitations.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 15 of Article 12 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Bastardy and Fornica-
tion", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
15. Prosecutions under this Article may be commenced
within two years from the delivery of the mother of the
bastard child, except that where the person accused has made
payments for the maintenance and support of said child,.
