land, title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Seat Plea-
sant", eliminating the provision as to how often there
shall be a general registration of voters in the Town of
Seat Pleasant.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 1243 of the Prince George's County Code
(1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County", sub-title
"Seat Pleasant", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
1243. The Council shall annually appoint three persons
as officers of registration, whose duty it shall be to enter in
alphabetical order in proper and convenient books to be pro-
vided by the Council, the names of all persons applying for
registration who are entitled to vote under the provisions
of this charter; and for the purpose of ascertaining the facts,
the said officers of registration are hereby empowered to
administer oaths to applicants and witnesses, touching the
qualifications of applicants for registration under the terms
of this charter. Such officers of registration shall sit, with
their official books, for registration of qualified applicants,
from 8 A. M. to 6 P. M., on the Tuesday and Wednesday
preceding every municipal election, a right of challenge and
of presentation of facts, relating to qualifications, and a right
of appeal to the Council from the decision of the registration
officers is hereby granted to any person or persons aggrieved
by the decision of such officers. The Council shall sit be-
tween the hours of 8 P. M. and 10 P. M. on Thursday before
election, and at such other times as may be necessary prior
to the election, to hear such appeals if any, and the evidence
relative thereto. The decision of the Council on such appeals
shall be final. The Council shall give at least five days'
notice of the time and place of sitting of the officers of reg-
istration, by means of handbills, posted in at least ten con-
spicuous places, in said town, or by advertisements in one or
more of the newspapers of general circulation in the said
town. The said officers of registration, as soon as their
sittings are finished, shall forthwith transmit to the Clerk of
said town, an alphabetical list of the persons registered at
such sittings. The said Clerk shall on the same day, post
in his office a copy of such alphabetical list of the persons
registered as aforesaid, so as to be available for public in-
spection.
A general registration of all voters residing in the said
town shall be had before the first Municipal Election to be
held under the provisions of this sub-title. Such general
