this Act shall become effective immediately but if a majority
of the votes cast thereon shall be "Against Zoning Act," then
this Act shall be null and void and of no effect whatsoever.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 458.
(House Bill 746)
An ACT to authorize and empower the County Commission-
ers of Anne Arundel County to borrow upon the faith and
credit of said county a sum not exceeding One Hundred
Seventy-five Thousand Dollars (1175,000.00), and to issue
three-year four per cent. (4%) notes as evidence of said
loan, the proceeds to be derived therefrom to be used for
road purposes in said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County be and they are hereby authorized and empowered
to borrow upon the faith and credit of said county a sum
not exceeding One Hundred Seventy-five Thousand Dollars
($175,000.00), in the aggregate, for a period not to exceed
three years and to issue as evidence of said indebtedness the
note or notes of the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County, said note or notes to be signed by the President of
the County Commissioners and countersigned by the Clerk
of the County Commissioners and to bear interest at a rate
not exceeding four per cent. (4%) from the date of issuance.
The entire proceeds derived from said note or notes, after
payment of the costs of issuance thereof, shall be xised for
road purposes in said county.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.
