"Howard County", sub-title "Fire Protection", said new
sections to be known as Sections 198B, 198C and 198D,
and to follow immediately after Section 198A, as said sec-
tion was enacted by Chapter 195 of the Acts of 1945, au-
thorizing the Chief, Chief Engineer, Captain or Lieutenant
of any Volunteer Fire Company in Howard County, created
for the purpose of engaging in the work of extinguishing
fires therein, to enter and inspect all public buildings,
stores, warehouses, factories, or any other structures or
premises used for commercial purposes within the limits
of Howard County for the purpose of estimating the fire
conditions on and in the same and providing regulations
for the prevention and protection against fire conditions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That three new sections be and they are hereby added
to Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Howard County", sub-title "Fire Pro-
tection", said new sections to be known as Section 198B,
198C and 198D, and to follow immediately after Section
198A of said Article as the same was enacted by Chapter
195 of the Acts of 1945, and to read as follows:

198B. That the Chief, Chief Engineer, Captain or Lieu-
tenant of any Volunteer Fire Company in Howard County,
created for the purpose of and engaged in the work of ex-
tinguishing fires therein, be, and they are hereby severally
authorized and empowered to, at any and all reasonable times,
enter upon and into any and all public buildings, stores,
warehouses, factories or any other structures or premises used
for commercial purposes within the limits of Howard County,
for the purpose of examining and inspecting the same, to
ascertain the conditions thereon or therein with regard to the
presence of arrangement of deposits of, or any article, ma-
terials, substances, goods, wares, merchandise, or any other
thing or things, which may, in their opinion tend to create
danger of or from fire, or unnecessarily and unreasonably
interfere with the work of the several Volunteer Fire Com-
panies in Howard County, in the event of fire on or in
said premises, buildings or structures, or the loss of life
of the occupants or other persons on or in said buildings or
structures in the event of fire; also with regard to the condi-
tion, size, arrangement and efficiency of any and all appli-
ances for fire prevention or for protection against fire on or
in such premises, buildings or structures.

198C. That if as a result of the inspection or inspections
by this Act authorized to be made the Chief, Chief Engineer,
