74 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 57

Maryland, as enacted by Chapter 908 of the 1943 Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland, title "Harford
County", sub-title "Aberdeen", providing for the quali-
fications of voters, the election of five Commissioners
for their term of office, duties and salary.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 3 of Article 13 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, as enacted by Chapter 908 of the 1943
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, title "Harford
County", sub-title "Aberdeen", be repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

3. All citizens of the United States residing within the
corporate limits of the Town of Aberdeen, above the age
of twenty-one (21) years, who are assessed with at least
One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) worth of real or personal
property on the tax books of said town and whose taxes
due and in arrears shall have been paid, shall hold an
election on the first Saturday of May, 1944, and every two
(2) years thereafter for five (5) Commissioners who must
be freeholders and qualified voters of said town and who
shall have resided therein for six (6) months next preced-
ing such election. The Commissioners so elected shall hold
office for two (2) years or until their successors are elected
and qualified; provided that the present Commissioners
elected on the first Saturday of May, 1942, shall hold office
until the first Saturday of May, 1944, or until their suc-
cessors are duly elected and qualified.

A majority of the Commissioners shall constitute a
quorum to transact business, and a majority shall always
govern; and in case of vacancy in the Board of Commis-
sioners during its term of office the remaining Commis-
sioners shall have power to fill the vacancy until the next
regular Town Election for Town Commissioners.

The Commissioners so elected shall meet at some con-
venient place in the Town of Aberdeen at least once a
month or as often as is necessary to properly discharge
the duties of their office; and shall receive annual sal-
aries of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00).

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect May 1,1948.
