ment of taxes, thereby superseding local laws on the sub-
ject; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to revise or repeal all local laws
on the subject in order to avoid any confusion; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1154 of the Montgomery County Code (1939
Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County", sub-title
"Washington Grove", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
1154. Immediately upon the receipt by him of the books
specified in Section 1152 the bailiff shall proceed to collect
all taxes and assessments levied by the said Mayor and
Council, and to pay over the same, when required to do so
by the said Mayor and Council, to the Treasurer of said cor-
poration ; and if any person shall neglect or refuse to pay
said taxes and assessments on demand, then the Bailiff
shall furnish to such person an account showing the aggre-
gate of his tax, or if he be absent, deliver the same at his
last known place of residence, and unless the same be paid
to the Bailiff within thirty days after such account shall
have been delivered, the Bailiff shall within ten days
report the facts in each case to the Mayor and Town
Council and thereafter proceedings shall be taken in
accordance with the provisions of Article 81, Sections 72
to 90W, inclusive, and any amendments thereof, relating
to tax sales.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 1155 of
the Montgomery County Code (1939 Edition), being Arti-
cle 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Montgomery County", sub-title "Washington Grove", be
and it is hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.
