terest thereon, during the current year, dating from
the first day of October to the thirtieth day of September
following, and apply the amount so levied to the payment
of any such indebtedness; provided, further, that at no time
shall the floating indebtedness of the Corporation of Fred-
erick exceed the sum of fifty thousand ($50,000) dollars.

240. Section 239 shall not abridge or limit the power of
the Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick, to issue and sell
bonds, upon the faith and credit of the Corporation, in such
sums, and for such purposes as it shall think proper, in
excess and in addition to said sum of fifty thousand ($ 50,000)
dollars, as is now or may hereafter be authorized by law or
ordinance.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 421.
(House Bill 636)

AN ACT to repeal Section 224 and Sections 225 to 231, in-
clusive, of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition) title "Frederick County", sub-
title "Frederick City", sub-heading "Assessment and Taxa-
tion", and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments Section
232 of said Article, to correct an error in said section.

WHEREAS, Section 224 and Sections 225 to 231, inclusive,
of said Article 11, have been superseded by the provisions of
Article 81, and especially by Sections 9 and 10 of said Article,
which provide who shall make assessments and that munici-
pal taxes shall be levied upon the assessments made by the
County Commissioners, thereby rendering these sections un-
necessary; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 232 of Article 11 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Frederick
County", sub-title "Frederick City", sub-heading "Assess-
ment and Taxation", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

232. The Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick is hereby
authorized and empowered to levy annually, with full power
