line with the center line of the Northwest Branch; thence
southeasterly along the center line of the Northwest Branch
to the boundary line of the existing Silver Spring Fire Tax-
ing Area as set out in aforesaid Section 1037 of this Article;
thence along said line of said fire Taxing area to the center
line of the Old Bladensburg Road; thence northwesterly
along said center line of Old Bladensburg Road to the point
of beginning.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 372.
(House Bill 454)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
97A of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943
Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-title "Teachers'
Retirement System", as said section was amended by Chap-
ter 789 of the Acts of 1945, relating to the payment of
pensions to certain teachers in Frederick and Caroline
Counties.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 97A of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-
title "Teachers' Retirement System", as said section was
amended by Chapter 789 of the Acts of 1945, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

97A. Any person who

(1) shall have been a teacher in the public schools of this
State for an aggregate period of twenty-five (25) years or
more prior to June 1, 1927, and who, in the case of Frederick,
and Caroline Counties, shall have been a teacher for a period
of twenty (20) years or more prior to June 1, 1927; and who,
in the case of Washington County, shall have been a teacher
or a clerk, or both, whether at the same time or at different
times, for a period of twenty-five years or more, prior to
June 1, 1927, and who

(2) shall be ineligible for a pension under this sub-title;
and who
