Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel
County", sub-title "Police Department", as said section was
enacted by Chapter 874 of the Acts of 1945, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
406 1/2 B. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County are hereby authorized and empowered to provide
clerks for the Police Department of said county, such clerks
to be selected by the Chief of Police subject to approval
by the County Commissioners, to have such duties as may
be assigned to them by the Chief of Police and to be subject
to his direction and supervision and removable by him at
any time, and to receive such salary as may be fixed by the
County Commissioners from time to time but not exceeding
sixteen hundred dollars per annum. Provided that such
clerks shall not be deemed a part of the police force, nor en-
titled to the benefit of pension laws for members of the police
force, nor entitled to wear the police uniform. The County
Commissioners are hereby authorized and empowered to levy
each year a sum sufficient for payment of the salaries and
expenses of the foregoing, but no such levy shall be made
against any property or person in the sixth election district
of the county.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
278 and 279 of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County",
sub-title "Fire Commissioners", as the same were enacted
by Chapter 6'75 of the Acts of 1945, relating to a Board
of Fire Commissioners for Anne Arundel County, appoint-
ment of its members, their terms of office, compensation,
powers and duties, and providing that the County Com-
missioners shall not contribute to the support of fire com-
panies organized without authorization of the Board of
Fire Commissioners; to enable the Board of Fire Commis-
sioners to govern the qualifications of fire chauffeurs, and
