CHAPTER 351.
(House Bill 304)

AN ACT to repeal Section 487 of Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Char-
ter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Sal-
aries of Clerks of Courts", said section relating to the
Chief Clerks of the Clerks of the Baltimore City Court,
Superior Court and Court of Common Pleas.

WHEREAS, Chapter 769 of the Acts of 1945, authorizes the
State Comptroller, on application of the Clerk of the Court,
to fix the compensation of all employees in the Clerk's office,
thereby rendering this section unnecessary; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 487 of Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938
Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Salaries of Clerks
of Courts", be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to fix the rate of State taxation for each of the
years nineteen hundred and forty-eight (1948) and nine-
teen hundred and forty-nine (1949), in accordance with the
provisions of Section 28, Article 81 of the Code of Public
General Laws of the State of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the rate of S'tate taxation for each of the years
nineteen hundred and forty-eight (1948) and nineteen hun-
dred and forty-nine (1949), respectively, is hereby fixed in
the manner following, and the taxes for each of the State
