of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Work-Hour of, in Factor-
ies", sub-title "State Employees", as said section was enacted
by Chapter 1015 of the Acts of 1945, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
77. (a) Every State employee except per diem and hourly
employees who works in excess of forty-eight (48) hours in
any week shall receive extra compensation for such hours
worked in excess of that time. The amount of compensation
for such excess shall be computed by dividing the weekly com-
pensation by forty-eight and multiplying the resulting quo-
tient by the number of hours worked in excess of said forty-
eight hours.
(b) Every per diem State employee who works in excess
of forty-eight hours in any week' shall receive compensation
for such hours worked in excess of that time. The amount
of compensation for such excess shall be computed by divid-
ing the per diem compensation by eight and multiplying the
resulting quotient by the number of hours worked in excess
of said forty-eight hours.
Provided, however, that the provisions of this section shall
not apply to the Department of Maryland State Police, Game
and Inland Fish Commission, Department of State Forests
and Parks and the Department of Tidewater Fisheries.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

An act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 199
of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 19.
Source and Distribution of Income", to change the title of
attendance officers to Supervisors of Pupil Personnel I and
II and visiting teachers.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 199 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Public Education", sub-
title "Chapter 19. Source and Distribution of Income", be
