CHAPTER 258.
(House Bill 341)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-sec-
tion 33 of Section 6 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, as enacted by Chapter 548 of the laws
of Maryland of 1945, and codified as Sub-section 37 of
Section 6 of the Baltimore City Charter, adopted by the
voters of Baltimore City at the election held on November
5th, 1946, title "Baltimore City", sub-title "General Pow-
ers", sub-heading "Water", authorizing the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore to establish, operate, maintain,
regulate and control a system of water supply and to make
charges for the consumption or use of such water; to ap-
point watchmen or police officers for the protection of its
water supply within or without the limits of Baltimore
City, and to discontinue supplying water in or outside of
Baltimore City because of the non-payment of certain fees
or charges and to regulate, in or outside of Baltimore City,
the installation of Certain water supply service connections.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ty the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section 33 of Section 6 of Article 4 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, as enacted by Chap-
ter 548 of the Laws of Maryland of 1945, and codified as
Sub-section 37 of Section 6 of the Baltimore City Charter
adopted by the voters of Baltimore City at the election held
on November 5th, 1946, title "Baltimore City", sub-title
"General Powers", sub-heading "Water", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(33) To establish, operate, maintain, regulate and control a
system of water supply and to make charges for the con-
sumption or use of such water; to appoint watchmen or police
officers for the protection of its water supply within or with-
out the city limits.

To turn off and discontinue the supply of water furnished
by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to any person or
property located in or outside of the City of Baltimore be-
cause of the non-payment of any fee or charge for water sup-
plied or for work done in connection with the furnishing of
such water until such unpaid fee or charge is fully paid; and
to regulate, in or outside of the City of Baltimore, the in-
stallation of water supply service connections from the Balti-
more City water supply system in such manner as to prevent
the existence of cross connections between such source of
