supply and any private system of water supply that may exist
within the premises served.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That any and all public
general laws or public local laws, and any and all parts
thereof, inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are here-
by repealed to the extent of any such inconsistency. Nothing
herein shall in any manner be construed to affect the pro-
visions of Sections" 331 and 332 of Article 3 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Bal-
timore County", sub-title "Health and Sanitation" (Metro-
politan District), as the same were repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, by Sections 3 and 4 of Chapter 1017 of the
Acts of 1945.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That should any section,
or part of a section, of this Act be held invalid for any
reason, such holding shall not be construed as affecting the
validity of any remaining section or part of a section, it being
the legislative intent that the remainder of this Act shall
stand, notwithstanding the invalidity of such section or part
of a section.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 259.
(House Bill 348)

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council
of Crisfield to borrow on its faith and credit a sum or
sums of money not exceeding Thirty Thousand Dollars
($30,000.00) in the aggregate, and to evidence said borrow-
ing by the issuance to the lender or lenders of its general
obligation serial maturity coupon bonds in like par amount,
payable as to principal and interest from the proceeds of
ad valorem taxes, levied without limitation as to rate or
amount on all assessable property in said municipality, not-
withstanding any other statutory tax limitation, and to use
the money so borrowed for the purpose of making improve-
ments to the streets, sidewalks and highways in said
municipality.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That to enable the Mayor and Council of Crisfield
