more County", to be under a new sub-title "Time", said new
section to be known as Section 763, and to follow imme-
diately after Section 762 of said Article, authorizing the
County Commissioners to establish daylight-saving time as
the official time in Baltimore County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 3
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Baltimore County", to be under a new sub-title "Time",
said new section to be known as Section 763, to follow imme-
diately after Section 762 of said Article, and to read as
follows:

TIME

763. For the period of each year from two A. M. of the last
Sunday in April until two A. M. of the last Sunday in Septem-
ber, the County Commissioners of Baltimore County are au-
thorized and empowered to fix, by ordinance or resolution, the
official time of said county at one hour in advance of the
standard time of the seventy-fifth meridian, which advance in
said standard time is commonly called "Eastern Daylight
Saving Time." If the County Commissioners so advance the
official time of said county, all courts, public offices, legal and
official proceedings, insofar as the same are subject to or
under the control of said County Commissioners, shall be
regulated thereby, and all time shown by the public clocks
shall agree therewith.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect from
the date of its passage.
