Kitzmillersville and qualified to vote therein, to act as officers
of said registration, and they shall sit for the purpose of
registering voters at the Council Chamber in said town, or
at such other place as may be designated by the Mayor and
Council, on the first Tuesday in January, 1948. They shall
sit not less than nine (9) hours and ten days' public notice
of the said sitting shall be given prior thereto by advertise-
ment by way of hand bills posted in not less than ten public
places within the corporate limits of the Town of Kitzmil-
lersville. And if necessary, in the opinion of the Mayor and
Council, the officers of registration shall sit for such addi-
tional day or days as are designated by the said Mayor and
Council for the purpose of continuing said registration, the
public notice of registration so stating. After causing the
registration of the duly qualified voters they shall return
the said list to the Mayor and Council of Kitzmillersville.
Before the said officers of registration shall sit for this pur-
pose they shall go before a Justice of the Peace for Garrett
County and make oath in due form of law that they will
only permit the registration of such persons as are entitled
under the provisions of Section 249 to be registered as
voters of the Town of Kitzmillersville.
249B. On or before the 15th day of December, 1949, and
in every second year thereafter, the Mayor and Council of
Kitzmillersville shall appoint two qualified voters of the
Town of Kitzmillersville to act as officers of registration,
and they shall sit on the first Tuesday in January next
following, between the hours of 7:00 P. M. and 10:00 P. M.,
for the purpose of registering additional qualified voters
upon the lists maintained by the Mayor and Council of Kitz-
millersville and for the purpose of revision, ten days' notice
of the same having been given and all other provisions in
Section 249 of this Act applicable hereto complied with. It
shall be the duty of such registration officers in addition to
registering voters, to examine and check over the registration
lists, and they shall make a list of those who, in their opin-
ion, may be disqualified thereon as voters, and they shall
deliver such list to the Clerk of the Town who shall forth-
with send written notice by mail to all persons whose names
are so given to him, notifying them to be and appear before
the Mayor and Council on the next succeeding revision day
to show cause, if any they have, why their names should
not be stricken from the lists of qualified voters of the Town
of Kitzmillersville, and the said Clerk shall certify to the
Mayor and Council under oath the fact that such notices
were mailed and the time thereof. For the purpose of re-
