vising such registration lists and striking therefrom the
names of those no longer qualified to vote in said town, the
Mayor and Council shall sit one evening, between the hours
of 7:00 P. M. and 10:00 P. M., known as Revision Day, to
be selected by the said Mayor and Council, and which shall
be not less than five days prior to the election. Notice of the
same shall be given at the same time and manner as notice
of the preceding registration sitting. It shall be the duty
of the Mayor and Council on such evening to strike from
the lists all those to whom notice has been mailed by the
Clerk as ordered, who do not appear before them at that
time and show cause why their names should not be stricken
off the lists of qualified voters or who have not otherwise
shown to them their qualifications as qualified voters, pro-

days before Revision Day. Any person feeling aggrieved by

shall clearly state the fact that all qualified voters are re-
quired to again register, whereupon the old registration lists
shall be voided. At all other times after the general 1948
registration, the registration on the first Tuesday in January
in each election year shall be for the purpose of registering
only additional qualified voters upon the lists maintained by
the said Mayor and Council and for the purpose of revision.
But whenever a general registration of voters is held under
this section in an election year, the officers of registration,
in addition to sitting for this purpose on the first Tuesday
in January, shall sit for such additional day or days as are
designated by the said Mayor and Council and specified in
such public notice.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

Approved March 29, 1947.
