View. The boundaries of the said special taxing area, or dis-
trict, shall be the sub-division in Montgomery County, Mary-
land, made by Frank O. Rappanier, Engineer, for John L.
Whittmore, et al., owners, as per Plat No. 124 in Plat Book
No. 2, recorded among the Land Records of Montgomery
County.

117. For the purpose of this Act the following terms,
wherever they appear in this Act, shall have the meanings
stipulated in this section:

"Chevy Chase View" or "community" shall mean the special
taxing area, or district, herein created.

"Council" shall mean the Council of Chevy Chase View,
the governing body hereinafter created to administer the au-
thority and carry out the duties herein granted to the special
taxing area, or district.

"Secretary-Treasurer" shall mean the Secretary-Treasurer
of Chevy Chase View as hereinafter created.

"County" shall mean Montgomery County, Maryland.

"County Commissioners" shall mean the Board of County
Commissioners of Montgomery County, Maryland.

"County Treasurer" shall mean the County Treasurer of
Montgomery County, Maryland.

"Assessable improvement" shall mean the original paving,
including grading, or otherwise improving, such as laying side-
walks, curbs and gutters, along any existing dedicated street,
road or lane, or any county road, street or lane, which has
been or which may be acquired and opened to public use and
which is situated, in whole or in part, in Chevy Chase View.

"Side foot" shall mean that footage of each corner lot
abutting the streets, roads or lanes of Chevy Chase View which
run in a generally North-South direction. "Front foot" shall
mean all other footage of lots abutting the streets, roads or
lanes of Chevy Chase View.

118. (A) There is hereby established a Council and an office
of Secretary-Treasurer for Chevy Chase View, to administer
the affairs, to fulfill the obligations and to carry out the
responsibilities of the community, all as provided in this Act.
The Council shall consist of five members. Members of the
Council and the Secretary-Treasurer shall be resident real
property owners of legal age or registered and qualified voters
of Montgomery County residing in Chevy Chase View, and
shall be elected for two-year terms as hereinafter provided.
