than are required in any other statute or local ordinance or
regulations, the provisions of the regulations made under
authority of this Act shall govern. Wherever the provisions
of any other statute or local ordinance or regulation require
a greater width or size of yards, courts, or other open spaces,
or require a lower height of building or a less number of
stories, or require a greater percentage of lot to be left un-
occupied, or impose other higher standards than are required
by the regulations made under authority of this Act, the pro-
visions of such statute or local ordinance or regulation shall
govern.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety and be-
ing passed upon by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the
date of its passage.

CHAPTER 213.
(House Bill 129)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 116 to 125, inclusive, of the Mont-
gomery County Code (1939 Edition), being Article 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery
County", sub-title "Chevy Chase View", and to enact in lieu
thereof 11 new sections to be known as Sections 116 to 125A,
inclusive, clarifying the charter of said taxing area and in-
creasing the amount of taxes which may be imposed by
said area.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 116 to 125, inclusive, of the Montgomery
County Code (1939 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County",
sub-title "Chevy Chase View", be and the same are hereby re-
pealed and 11 new sections, to be known as Sections 116 to
125A, inclusive, be and they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof,
to read as follows:
116. A special taxing area, or district, is hereby created in
Montgomery County, Maryland, to be known as Chevy Chase
