524. No person shall vote or be eligible to office at any
such election, unless he be a citizen, twenty-one years of age,
and a resident of said town for six months previous to the
election.
524A. The town clerk shall be the registrar of voters and
shall have the powers and perform the duties herein pres-
cribed. He shall sit for the registration of voters at such
place and at such time or times as the Town Commissioners
shall by ordinance or resolution determine, but there shall
be at least one day on which eligible voters may register
not less than two weeks prior to regular town election on the
first Saturday in June each year. Any person who shall
feel aggrieved by the action of the Town Clerk in refusing to
register him or her as a qualified voter, or in erasing his or
her name from the registry book, may within ten days after
such action, file an appeal in the Circuit Court for Talbot
County in the same manner as provided by law for appeals
from the board of registry as provided in the general elec-
tion laws of the State.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety and hav-
ing been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members of the two Houses of the General
Assembly the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
453 and 455 of the Harforcl County Code (1942 Edition),
being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Harford County", sub-title "Sheriff", as said
sections were added by Chapter 810 of the Acts of 1943,
relating to the salary of the Sheriff of Harford County,
and maintenance and support of persons committed to the
County Jail.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 453 and 455 of the Harford County Code
